Three main areas can be distinguished as for the "Tests":

  • The acquisition and analysis of preliminary data
This phase takes usually place very early in the project process. It can be performed either using earlier versions of the material when it comes to evolution (new generation of sensors for example), or using off-the-shelf instruments and measuring systems when they are available, eventually rented out when possible. This phase may also require the development of specific tools when no equipment able to provide the valuable information necessary for the developement of the project are available. This information can be simple samples, waveforms or any other type of measurement depending on the nature of the project. They will serve as input to simulation models. [IS]² offers to take over all or part of this phase critical to the success of your project.
  • Laboratory testing of prototypes
Like unit tests in modern methods of programming, it is extremely effective to extensively test every submodule of a system. Thus, for each of the key elements of the system, a battery of tests is defined at the same time as the object itself is conceived. This allows, in addition to ensure that each element fill out the specifications for which it was designed to limit the risk of regression at future developments. That is why [IS]² will always offer you highly modular approach achieving your prototypes, borrowed from Object Oriented Programmation, each submodule subject to detailed unit tests, followed of course by a series of final testing of the complete system to verify the completeness of the specifications.
  • In-situ testing of prototypes or equipment pre-series
Once the first prototypes ready, it is necessary to confront them with the reality of the real world mainly to ensure that the signals used in the laboratory were sufficiently representative to describe the operation. It is to be noted that certain types of signals will be very difficult even impossible to recreate in the laboratory and only the in-situ validation will confirm the proper operation of the system. In addition, other problems related to the environment can greatly affect performances. These include, among others, various external noise and interference, but also the quality of transmissions for real-time systems and the stability of energy supplies, which are so many parameters that are proved to be very difficult to predict. [IS]² supports you in this final phase of validation of your project, and can even help you in deploying your first pre-series to finalize the installion and tuning procedures with your teams.
